Wee Bit of Green Tablescape

Even though I come from an Irish/Scottish heritage and before I was married sported an "Mc" family name we have never done anything special for St. Patrick's day.  Once or twice since I married I have actually cooked corned beef and cabbage and made the occasional cupcake with a shamrock for the kids.

For whatever reason, I have been feeling a wee bit Irish lately and decided to put together this tablescape.  As Mini put it, I will call it a formal St. Patrick's table since there is hardly a shamrock and not a single Leprechaun to be found (except for Mini that is! he he) just lots of green and a bit of gold and a blessing that we will just call Irish.

The table is created with a white cloth topped with gold lame fabric from my Christmas store.  I have several Fiesta dishes in shades of green that will be my serving pieces on St. Patrick's day.  Gotta love that Fiesta!

The white plates are from Kohls, a gift from Wonder Hubby.  The dark green glasses are thrifting finds and the lighter green glasses are Chantilly green glass and also gifts from Wonder Hubby (I think I am gonna keep him).

I am finding lots of occasions to use the milk glass dishes that were my grandmothers.  The centerpiece is created with a wreath of hydrangea from my garden and a thrifted  vase/candle holder.  Two dollars well spent I think!

Thank you for stopping by...I will leave you with this

An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May Gold hold you in the palm of His Hand.
